New Online Course!

Developing a Conversational Life with God

Course Description:
Learn to cultivate an ongoing conversational relationship with God that moves beyond mechanical prayer to back-and-forth exchanges about real life situations. We explore how to recognize God's voice, hear God in Scripture, ask God questions, and
learn how to make requests that leave room for God to speak to our heart.  (Based on Dallas Willard's book Hearing God and Jan's book When the Soul Listens.)

Session Descriptions

Session 1: Never Alone
You are never alone because you were made to have an interactive life with God, where you are loved, empowered and functioning fully as God’s partner, not God’s puppet.

Session 2: The Still, Small Voice
The still, small voice of God is the intimate communication of how friends and partners communicate. God’s voice is firm but kind, giving you what you need to move forward.

Session 3: Hearing God in Scripture
God speaks to us in Scripture, as we learn to pause and reflect, as God tells us what we need to hear in that moment.

Session 4: Staying in Conversation
God is full of wisdom for the asking, so we ask, we pause, we reflect and discover that wisdom.

Session 5: How Requests Fit in the Conversation
Prayer is more than presenting a list of requests to God, but talking things over with God and partnering with God in today’s endeavors.

Thursdays 4:00 pm Pacific / 5:00 pm Mountain
      (April 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7)
Tuesdays 10:00 am Pacific / 11:00 am Mountain

What does it mean to live day-to-day in the kingdom of God?

The Scandal of the Kingdom Workbook, based on the teachings of the late beloved author Dallas Willard, will aid you in this kind of exploration of many of the parables that Jesus told. Each lesson will help you understand the heart behind a parable, how Jesus used it to communicate the realities of God and life in his kingdom.

  • Hearing What Jesus Said: The truths that Jesus was revealing
  • Thinking About What Jesus Said: How those truths apply to you
  • Responding to What Jesus Said: What actions to take

User Comment:  VERY helpful! I have no problem to understanding what Dallas explains in the book, "The Scandal.." But the workbook nails it down in my soul. I swim as fast as I can through deep waters but I thank you for your readiness to do that for us readers.
